Akin brings 20+ years of deal-tested experience across SaaS, e-commerce, manufacturing, and PE-backed tech companies. He’s been the GC steering growth, leading corporate development, and driving M&A on both the buy and sell side. He’s also the lawyer execs call when crypto or cross-border complexity hits the table.

Before Unified, Akin served as GC at Quickbase, 4over, Innovative, from Clarivate and held senior legal roles at Microsoft, Wolters Kluwer, Caradigm, a GE Healthcare company, Oppenheimer & Co. Inc., and Pratt & Whitney. Along the way, he’s earned “European Deal of the Year,” guided nonprofits through 501(c)(3) approvals, and partnered with leadership teams to simplify complex legal concepts into business-ready strategy.

What makes Akin a fit for Unified? He calls his approach “useful lawyering” — cutting through noise to deliver answers founders and PE sponsors can actually use. He thrives in fast-moving, entrepreneurial environments and collaborates seamlessly across HR, finance, ops, and marketing.

Outside the boardroom, Akin is co-founder of a nonprofit expanding education and healthcare access in rural Nigeria, co-owner of a Nigerian soccer club, soccer coach to his daughter, sports podcaster, and loyal fan of the Eagles, Knicks, and Arsenal.
