Wade is the Managing Partner of Unified Global Asia and a key advisor, working closely with the Unified Law and Unified Global tax teams. With nearly two decades of experience as a tax attorney, Wade brings a wealth of knowledge in U.S. federal income taxation, particularly in transactional tax planning for domestic and cross-border deals. His role as a mentor and advisor ensures that Unified Law’s clients receive top-tier tax advice, no matter how complex the challenge.


Wade spent over 15 years at KPMG and held various leadership roles, including as a Tax Partner based in Hong Kong. There, he advised financial sponsors and multinational companies on everything from leveraged buyouts to mergers, acquisitions, and cross-border transactions. Before his time in Hong Kong, Wade led the U.S. Tax Practice at KPMG LLP (United Kingdom), focusing on cross-border tax planning and complex transactional advice. He also served as a Principal with Washington National Tax at KPMG LLP (USA), providing strategic tax counsel to a diverse range of clients, from emerging companies to Fortune 500 giants.


Before KPMG, Wade was a Partner with Jones Day where he spent over a decade honing his tax law expertise. He worked on a wide variety of transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and cross-border deals, gaining deep insight into the unique tax challenges faced by businesses in these contexts.


In his current advisory role with Unified Law, Wade helps the Unified Law tax team navigate complex tax matters, ensuring buy-side clients are well-informed of potential tax risks and offering strategic post-close suggestions for improvements. Additionally, he guides the team in preparing sell-side clients, making sure they’re ready to optimize their tax positions. His strategic guidance and mentorship are key reasons why these teams can handle almost anything that comes their way, backed by a deep bench of talent to ensure every detail is covered.


Wade holds an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law, a J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law—where he was a Notes Editor for the Case Western Reserve Law Review and Order of the Coif—and a B.A. in Political Science and Speech from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.  Wade also served as an Attorney-Advisor to U.S. Tax Court Judge Arthur L. Nims, III in Washington, D.C.
